General Application Information

Applications for admission normally open in April and November of the year preceding the year of study. Each student is expected to complete one application form. Both students applying for the Normal and the Mature Age Entry Scheme use the same form but should indicate their preference for the programme and mode of study on the spaces provided.

All applicants whose application forms are received by the SPC-TED will get an acknowledgement letter from the Admissions Office. Successful applicants will receive a letter of provisional admission. The Office of the Registrar will provide all provisionally admitted students with correspondence which includes registration dates, information on registration and tuition fees, orientation programmes and a reminder to submit all original documents on the day of registration.

All provisionally admitted students are expected to register on the specified date as indicated in the offer letter. Please note that you may forfeit your place or will be charged a late registration fee if you fail to register on the date allocated to you.

How to Apply.

You can download the APPLICATION FORM , complete and submit it with all supporting documentation and proof of payment online or to the college. Please do not send original documents but only true certified copies. Alternatively, you can visit our offices or send an email requesting for the application form. Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered. Kindly take note that normally, no application will be taken after the due date. Please note that only successful candidates will be responded to and no documents will be returned.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

BED Programmes

  • Current Grade 12 Leaners are encouraged to apply with their first term Results.
  • Holders of Grade 12 Certificate may apply with 25 Points in the best 5 subjects, with an E in English as a minimum.
  • Mature Age Candidates may apply provided they are 25 years of age
    and above, with at least 20 points at grade 12 in the best 5 subjects
    with a minimum of an E in English.

 Post Graduate Diploma in Education

  • In order for a candidate to be admitted to the PGDE (Level 8)
    qualification, one must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from an
    accredited university or college in Namibia or beyond and normally must
    have a school teaching subject.

Diploma in Pre and Junior Primary Education (DPJPE)  

  • In order for a candidate to be admitted to the DPJPE (Level 6)
    qualification, one must have obtained a minimum of 19 points; Namibian
    Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO or International General
    Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Grade 12/11 or equivalent
    qualification. Applicants must have passed five subjects (including
    English minimum E symbol.
  • Mature Age Entry: 25 years or older; at least a
    Grade 10 school leaving certificate; 2 years relevant working
    experience. Applicants must pass an entry test to be admitted into the
    programme.

Diploma in Interactive Media and Webb Development (DIMWD)

  • In order for a candidate to be admitted to the DIMWD (Level 6)
    qualification, one must have a obtained a minimum of 22 points; Namibian
    Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO or International General
    Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Grade 12/11 or equivalent
    qualification. Applicants must have passed five subjects (including
    English minimum D symbol and a Namibian language minimum D symbol).
  • Mature Age Entry: 25 years or older; at least Grade
    10 school leaving certificate; 2 years relevant working experience.
    Applicants must pass an entry test to be admitted into the programme.

Certificate in Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM)

  • The qualification in Information and Knowledge Management prepares
    the candidates to be become members of a profession that is active in
    information and knowledge environments. Employers include the NGOs,
    private and public sectors. Career positions include; Library Clerks/
    Technicians, Data Capturing Clerks/Technicians, Records
    Clerks/Technicians; Knowledge Management Clerks/Technicians,
    Documentation Technicians; Filing Clerks/Technicians; Registry
    Clerks/Technicians, Database Technicians and etc.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 18 points;
    Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO or International
    General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Grade 12/11 or
    equivalent qualification. Applicants must have passed five subjects
    (including English minimum E symbol).
  • Mature Age Entry: 25 years or older; at least a
    Grade 10 school leaving certificate; 2 years relevant working
    experience. Applicants must pass an entry test to be admitted into the
    programme.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Will be accepted on
equivalent qualifications to Namibian Systems and point scale or better.
Students having obtained qualifications or parts thereof at tertiary
institutions outside Namibia may only be admitted if such application is
accompanied by an official evaluation of the obtained qualification(s)
or parts thereof issued by an approved body responsible for evaluation
of qualifications. All admissions made before evaluation will be subject
to confirmation.
